The E-TOF plot in MM3 was showing a 5MeV threshold.
After investigation the 12 strip was not disable on MM2 to MM4, and particularly noisy on MM3, killing the counts at small angle where most of the proton are.
After disabling the Strip 12 all 4 telescope show the same amount of statistics.
I added the Impact matrix and the E-DE plot for each of the forward telescope as well. Looks like the beam is not centered but shifted. Need more investigation.
The online need to be restarted to take this into account.

Miscelanous
- Cleanup branches in npanalysis (remove old vamos branch and add MW TDC ones)
- Check the MW TDC, make an offset calibration to align them
- Implement the calibration in the analysis and out a MW_T branch with all the time
- Allow for multiplicity in EDC
A clean macro for offline analysis producing a standardise Tcanvas to be put in the elog:
- Ex And Ex normalised with coinc gamma overlay (Tac conditions for both) Indicate the Sn on this plot.
- Kinematic plot with kinematic all line overlay (add fonctions to add kine line for 47Kdp 47Tidp 47Kpp 47Kdd 47Kdt 47KCC)
- Ex vs EDC
- Ex vs ThetaLab
- Gamma-Gamma
Angular distribution
- Add a separate macro with gate on gamma to produce ThetaLab distribution for each states
- Do a simulation and produce a Solid angle for the g.s. And apply it to the distribution
- Overlay the ADWA calculation with appropriate scaling (on a reference angle bin to be chosen)

- 2 TACS are not working:
- T_Si_CATS1 (stop should be CATS n FAG --> to be checked)
- T_Si_VAMOS (seen now in T_CATS1_CATS2) --> check the signals (if CATS is the START we should use CATS n FAG, if it is the stop it should be delayed by 800 ns , the delay is prepared)

The was a broken Cable from the delay to fan in fan out.
Still remains T_Vamos_Cats1 with no counts. I suspect the necesity to put a 2 us delay on Cats1, or to inverse it and pout Cats1 fag validated as start

Here is a todo list for today:
Data conversion:
- Raw run files are located in /data/mugastX/mugast/acquisition/run/
- Converting FSC run: 622 to 629 : run_0630.dat.06-03-21_13h15m06s
- Converting alpha run: 630. warning: there is 3 files for this run :run_0630.dat.06-03-21_13h15m06s and run_0630.dat.06-03-21_13h15m06s.1 and run_0630.dat.06-03-21_13h15m06s.2
Extract histogram for calibration: each macro need to be run twice, once for MUGAST and once for MUST2 if I remember correctly.
- Extract histograms for FSC run with the macro located : /home/mugast/analysis/nptool/Projects/calibration/Time/ExtractRawHisto_T.C
- Extract histograms for alpha run with the macro located : /home/mugast/analysis/nptool/Projects/calibration/Energy/ExtractRawHisto_E.C
Analysed the extracted histograms to calibrate: change the appropriate field in the macro before running
- FSC: /home/mugast/analysis/nptool/Projects/calibration/Time/TimeCalibrator.C
- alpha: /home/mugast/analysis/nptool/Projects/calibration/Energy/EnergyCalibrator.C
Prepare the calibration file to be used for the online/offline analysis:
- List all the file you just generated in /home/mugast/analysis/nptool/Projects/MUGAST/Calibration.txt
- Do some cleanup in the file so it is more readable.
- Check for missing/noisy strips and adjust config file in /home/mugast/analysis/nptool/Projects/MUGAST/configs
Analysed the calibration run with the new calibration:
- check T:strip and E:strip
- Post a summary of the resolution for each detector
Time calibrator on all tac
- Check the range of each tac
- wired the start/stop to the TAC inputs
- do an acquisition with enough statitics
- analyse it and put the calibration file in Calibration.txt

We have inserted the 2nd target CH2 104 um.
We have changed the range of the TAC MUGAST-HF from 1us to 200ns.
TAC VAMOS-CATS1 (in fact CATS2) was not working in the previous run because there was no delay on CATS. We send now CATS DELAY x2, meaning that the delay is 300ns. |

Pinned, com2019, Mon Apr 1 11:02:00 2019, Adrien Matta, MUST2, Hardware, N/A, Switching on and off LV/HV for MUST2 crate
|
HVM group could be used to switch on and off the LV and HV for the MUST2 crate.
The command could be lauched from the analysis environment: start a terminal and type:
> lpcgrit
This will connect to lpcgrit and source the correct environment.
Be careful: HV on mugast should not be on when the BT are off, this could damaged the PAC:
- Power up sequence : switch on BT first, then HV
- Power down sequence :Switch off HV first, then BT.
To switch on group use:
> hvm_group <group name> <on|off>
The following group exist:
- BT-MGA -> Low voltage for GRIT trapezoid and annular detector
- BT-MGB -> Low voltage for GRIT trapezoid
- BT-MUST -> Low voltage for MUST2 and 90 deg
- HV-MG -> GRIT Trap and Annular HV
- HV-MUST -> MUST2 Si and CsI HV
The programme return only once the voltage finished ramping up, so be patient. Once the voltage are set, it will print-out the relevant channel. If a channel trip, the programm print out the status of all the channel.
NB: over voltage on +5V channel is "normal" and ignored as an error by the program
To check the status of the voltage crate use the hvm_print command:
to print VAMOS and MUST2:
> hvm_print
to print MUST2:
> hvm_print MUST2
to print VAMOS:
> hvm_print VAMOS

What remains to be done
- Do the time calibration of all boards (time calibrator has to be connected)
. When checking the pulser on all boards we saw that MG5 has no triggers on Y and MG9 does not see the pulser (neither X or Y). So we will not get time calibration for those
- Plug the STOP in the MUVI (either clean HF that was used in the previous experiment or CATS2 clean that was also prepared during the last experiment but should be connected)
- Rename parameters in the GECO of the experiment
. We now run only with 3 MUVI, MG9 (square) is put in channel 3 of MUVI2 (where MG6 was plugged before)
. We changed the names for the ACTION_mugast.CHC_PAR but it has to be done for the experiment file)
- Targets will be mounted last week before the experiment. The surveyor have to remeasure the position of all targets.
- hvm_watcher has to be modified according to the changes made on the distribution boxes :
. MG9 is on the LV/BT of the new distribution box on channel 6
. MM1 is on channel 5 of the MUST2 distribution box (instead of channel 1).
We noticed instabilities in the current of the MUST2 detectors : T1 is fluctuating from time to time and T2 current is increasing slowly but surely.
We now run with 60V on MM1 and MM2 and 70V on MM3 and MM4.
The fluctuations on MM1 are usually solved when cooling down to 0 degree.
!! We do not leave HV and LV on when there is nobody to check the temperature of the boards and the coolers. |
