Weird signal on StripX of T6... might be the copper oxyde projections making a short-circuit

EDIT 27/03/18 : The problem seen on Telescope 6 might be due to either some Asics Problem, or due to some dirt, the current reason in not known currently. The safest way would be to remove the telescope completely and replace it for Daisuke's and Olivier's experiments.

We can see that the DSSSDs on T1(CsI) T3(CsI) T4(CsI) and T5(SiLi) are in good shape (cf :Bidim for T1 T3 T4 T5 T6 T7 T8 ).

As for now, we would like to keep the telescope as is. M2C should be moved tomorrow (28/03/18).

After that we would like to use the two spare DSSSDs available on both T2 and on the O degree telescope (now called T5(CsI)).

If the spare DSSSDs are judged not be good enough for the experiment, we will swap current T5(SiLi) DSSDs on the 0 degree Telescope T5(CsI).

Which telescope should we take for T5? T7 or T6?

Looking at the previous Calimero tests Adrien did during his experiment, neither telescope are good as is... the T7 has no time calibration and T6 might have some Asics problem...

We can either use T6 and check if the problem we saw on it's DSSDs are due to some electronics problem or use a completly different telescope from the spare we have...

EDIT 29/03/18 : After discussion with Laurent the option to use a new DSSD on T6 seems more appropriate, still ongoing.

For the next day, the plan is to check the DSSD's connections of T6 & T7 followed by an alpha run, if the problem seen on T6 are not resolved, we will change the DSSD of T6 and re-do another alpha run, the last option would be to change the Muffee card.

Just for a quick visual update, telescopes 5&8 are dismounted and a new DSSD is mounted on T2 as you can see !

After checking the cable of T6 & T7 it seems that there were in fact an inversion during experiment e748. T6 is the bottom one, and T7 the top one.

During e748, it seems that there were some difference regarding the position, between the hardware and software position...

If it was the case, it would mean that it is T6 that has the time calibration problem, not T7.
re-
In conclusion, it is T6 that has both the time calibration problem on X and Y, and the weird signal seen during the calibration.

EDIT 4/04/18 : For the experiment e748 and before the time calibration, the inversion had been made, as a conclusion what was previously stated is wrong, it is T7 that has no time calibration... Anyhow, wee will re-do the time calibration for T6 and T7 to check if the problem are still present.

The EXL detector has been mounted, it is very close to the target ~4cm and doesn't do any shadow on the M2 telescopes. But it isn't at 90° anymore. The cable have been plugged-in (cf photos). With a new mapping of the detector (cf drawing).

Previously on e744:

After a chat with Charles Houarner we decided to have configuration with a Muvi card per VXI crate. This is supposed to reduce the dead time (DT) by parallelising the crate readout. This have a few implication:
- The slave crate need a GMT, because the MUVI read out was never tested using a GAMER
- The GMT is not designed to act as centrum receiver, so a centrum slave module is installed in the slave crate
- The action file compilation is not designed to have a centrum receiver, so the compilation has to be done by Fred. He is working on fixing the issue, in the mean time, we SHOULD NOT try to change ADC/QDC/TDC label and recompile throught DAS
- The slave GMT needs to be block correctly, Charles setup the VIS2/BLK signal with a logic FIFO.
- The slave GMT is triggered by the master GMT VAL
- The MUVI from the Slave VXI is still triggering the MASTER GMT, as usual.

After all this setup, we change the NARVAL topology to have two crate and a EBYEDAT merger. This merger prove to be no longer functional. Clotilde had a look but have no clue so far why it is not working.

We switch to MFM data format with a EBY2MFM merger. Because of this change of format we had to change both Online and Offline program in order to extract the EBYE buffer from the MFM frame.

This is no tested and working, for some reasons it worked only using ROOT6.

To use the remote settings of the Mesytech modules :
- start GANP170

- login: .\invité | pass: ganil17

- start putty

- select serial

- in host name type COM# (# is the number of the port which seems to be chosen at random at every reboot).

- when you have found the good port number, a terminal will appear, in this terminal you cannot erase, so if you type something wrong press enter.

- type :

           off

the red LED of the front panel of one of the mesytech should stop, now, you know which mesytech is controlled by the terminal you opened.
- type:
           on

the red LED is back again and remote control is working again.

- to list the parameter type:

           ds

- the parameter of interest are under "rc settings"

You can then follow what's written in the manual next to the PC.

tests
The plot:ConfigDASMuvi1Tel4mufeeX.png shows the situation on the Mufee card when the cooling system was blocked (ice in the tube! there was water inside instead of alcohol) on Wednesday 25th. cf there was 47°C on MufeeX mate of Telescope 4.
The voltages on Must2 tripped, due to the increase of temperature on the Mates. After fixing the problem, the Mate temperatures were decreasing from 40-47°C to 19°C when the system was running again in normal temperature conditions (cooling system running well again, at -10°C).

The second one ConfigDASMuvi1Tel5mufeeXokTemp.png (Telescope 5) shows Mate for Tel.5 with T around 19°C.

When the temperature is set at -10°C on the cooling machine, and when we run in normal conditions, after stabilizing the temperature inside the chamber, the standard conditions on the Mates are around 7-12°C (depending on the position of the telescope on the chain of cooling tubes, close or not to the entrance or exit tubes).
To read the temperatures on the Mate, we need to have the low voltages on, and the software Das online.
