Phil, Valerian, Franck | EXL-PPT | General | | Gamma-ray spectra from PPT |
Attached are plots of gamma-ray energy spectra from PPT.
2-D plot is the PPT-CATS time (from PPT-MUST2 and MUST2-CATS time, obviously).
Two 1-D plots are PPT energy spectra gated on the two loci which can be seen in the 2-D plot.
Note that the 1.6-ish MeV line which may ordinarily expect to be due to the internal background from LaBr3 appears strongly in the prompt spectra and isn't really randomly time-correlated. We are suspicious, however, that the resolution is too good and that the peaks may be an artefact. We are checking this and will update this post accordingly. |

Run 2109
Beam: 14O (1.5*10^5 pps)
start: 8h37m01
stop: 9h26
Target nbr 4: CH2 (104 um)
Remark:
- Telesecope 4 is tripping all the time during this run. Impossible to put more than 50V. Even at 40 V, the leakage current is fluctuating around 8 uA. It seems like it is dying.
- LISE spectrometer adjustment during run - The attached plot show the final result of the beam tuning. |

Valérie, Louis | RUN | General | CH2 | BEAM LINE PROBLEMS, alarm "water leakage" |
The beam was stopped at 4h56, due to the alarm of "water leakage" on equipments, indicated in the D6 area.
All QPole in D6 were automatically put to 0.
Wien filter and DAP were put OFF to stop the beam and enter in the D6 area.
Between 5h and 5h30 PCP investigated the problem along the D3 and D6 areas, to check the water leakage problem indicated by the control command messages.
Since the problem could not be solved directly on the command boxes in PCP, it was not possible to put again the values on the QPoles.
then the area astreinte, Sébastien Le Moal, was called at 5h40.
At 6h15, he investigated the problem and check the cables in the D6 area. He saw some water condensation around the cable surveyor of the equipment (located behind the cooling system of MUST2).
Night/morning shift team: Louis Valérie.
[NB: in order to let them end up their night quietly, we will call later on the LISE experts for the beam line checking once the Qpoles are ready to put ON again.]
The T4 was increasing, from 16µA at 5h, then around 17 µA at 5h40 (see snapshot HT_MUST2_Wed30May_At5h52.png) we decided to put it OFF to let it end the night quietly.

Phil | DAQ | General | N/A | Pulser values |
Here's a list of pulser values taken from the last few runs as a reference for what rate the "100-Hz" pulser is actually seeing.
All rates in Hz.
29 May:
6h52 62
9h36 96
9.39 96
10.35 50
30 May
12.15 76
12.16 84
3.01 48
3.21 96
3.27 48
4.57 48
7.15 48
8.39 48
9.26 48
9.33 66
11.35 48
1.29 48
Rate was 48 Hz when the run was stopped due to loss of beam (I looked but didn't take a picture).
I don't know if this problem is caused by the scaler counting behaving oddly but that seems like a more obvious solution than the pulser frequency randomly changing. If the pulser is actually vital for the experiment, someone should look in the offline data to see what's happening. |

takeshi | TARGET | Hardware | N/A | current cooling status of the cryogenic target |
This is the temperature log of the cryogenic hydrogen target during the cooling test done last night.
The temperature of the heat shield (green line) and the cell (blue line) increased while it went the minimum values at once.
We could not try liquefying test this morning because the temperature was not enough low.
I would attach the boiling points of several gases in a vacuum. We suspect the rebound of the temperature is due to adsorption of vapour such as N2 at 20 K and H20 at 150 K. |
