Since 2h58 : WAITING FOR THE BEAM TO START THE RUN
RUN #2115 30 mai 2018 start @ 03h20; stop @ 4h56
END OF THE RUN because there is an alarm related to a potential water leakage in the D3-D6 equipments. see next entry.
PCP will make a survey and enter to check the Qpole all off. We put the Wien filter off.
target n°4. CH2 104 µm
All triggers, (no LISE)
Divisions CATS1 3. 10**4. PPT 3000 ; EXL 10**4
Night shift team: Louis, Valérie
Beam intensity recovered around 70k-90k pps at 3h37
Again down at 300 pps at 3h30 due to the loss of the "HyperPi" of the source (hummm we should ask experts about the meaning cf JCT)
cf current of T4 around 15 µA (at 3h15 without beam; same at 3h20 with beam), increasing during the run, 16 µA see Run2115_HVMust2At3h50.png
cf small rate at the beginning, cf Run2115_scalersInit.png
max around 91k pps at 3h27, cf Run2115_scalersAt3h27.png

Wednesday 30th May.
Beam back at 6h59. Run 2116 started at 6h69. STOP at 8h33 (beam rate decreasing at the end of the run due to machine problems).
Around 6-6h40 Leakage alarm problem was solved by Sébastien Le Moal (see last entry) and Qpoles were set again.
Wien filter +/-0.8 kV.
target n°4. CH2 104 µm
All triggers, (no LISE)
Divisions CATS1 3. 10**4. PPT 3000 ; EXL 10**4
Night morning shift team: Louis, Valérie; François arriving at 7h just on time to apply the values of the Qpoles in D6 and to check the beam profile on PR62Gaz.
See LISE notebook for the printed beam profile. The plot of MM impacts looks good.
Beam intensity around 100k pps at 7h15.
cf current of T4 around 15 µA at 7h15. |
Fixed, e744, Wed May 30 08:34:51 2018, Valérie, RUN, General, CH2, Run 2117- low or no beam
|
Wednesday 30th May.
Run 2117 started at 8h36 ; Stop at 8h45: BEAM STOP.
Beam decreased at the end of Run 2116, still very low at the beginning of run 2117, 300 pps then 3 pps.
PCP told us that it should take a few minutes to recover it, but it will take more time (maybe 1/2 hour) to recover the beam,
due to vacuum problems before the target. The operators have to enter in the vault to check the equipments.

Comments:
- We realized that the pulser frequency for dead time measurement changed from 100 Hz to 50 Hz a few runs ago. It is not clear if someone changed it during an intervention in D6.

|
During E744 experiment, two CsI crystals (number 1 & 10) of MM2 had no data as attached.
When the M2C chamber was opened today, I found at least connection for CsI number 1 of MM2 has a problem.
It takes some time to fix the connection for CsI, so it may be going to be fixed after some hardware problems are found in this week. |

The 8 MUST2 telescopes have been installed and pluged in final configuration. Energy signal have been tested with 2 3-alphas sources, one in front of T5-T6 and one in front of the others.
Energy signal for all telescopes looks ok exept for telescopes 5. Concidering their position with respect to the source T5 and T6 should have the same count. In fact, T5X see signal at the good energy but with two times less count than T6X. T5Y see 10 times less count than T6Y.
One can also see some noise on the middle part of T8X |

run 1: 4 alpha source, without heat shield, 1 bar air inside the target cell.
Data has been taken with a 4 alpha source: 3 alpha around 5Mev plus one around 8.7MeV
On telescope 7 and 8, one can see the four alpha which are not intercepted by the heat shield. Telescope 1 to 4 see only one alpha around 2.5Mev on the border of the strips. T5 and T6 see the alpha at 2.5Mev in the center of stripX.
