Valerian and Freddy | MUST2 | Hardware | N/A | Debug of Must2 telescopes |
Today we found different problems, no time on T4 and no signal on T5 and T6 CsI tripping. After changing cables and a lot of tests with the chamber open and only the BT ON, T4 and T5 problems seemed to be fixed.
The CsI of T6 is still tripping but it will have to be tested with the chamber closed.
For a more precise explanation see the pdf in attachment. |

Valerian | OTHER | General | 3-alpha | Update on the cooling system problem |
After waiting for 1-2 hours. I started the BT again on T5 no tripping BT anymore. While writing hardware with DAS T5 responded well.
After starting the HT, i started a new run :
run #206
start @18h02
stop @18h15
the spectrum seem OK.
In both cooling systems the levels are still good, did we refilled the 0 degree cooling system since the beginning?
The vacuum is @ 9.1e-6 in M2C and 2e-5 in 0 degree chamber.
I then left the cooling ON, but stopped both HT and BT on every telescopes.
I join with this entry screenshots of :
- T5 spectra
- BT&HT current before stopping

The target seems identical between the two runs... We will have to investigate to understand what is going on.
The decision is to change the target 5 for the target 4 104um from georges.
The two spectras from run 2003 (target nr6) and 2010 (target nr 5) are identical. The peak at low energy correspond to the first excited state in 15F.
In the picture, target N°4 is written 104 µm
N°5 100 µm GoodFellow
N°6 187µm |

Valerian | OFFLINE | General | CH2 | New improved resolution for 14N et 15F |
After correcting position for the Must2 detectors by taking into account the real hit position on the target that was (0,15cm,0) and not (0,0,0). The way to do it was to artificially move every detector 15cm lower.
Joined are the results at 0deg, for 14N the resolution increases from 125keV to 102keV. |
