We made a quick check of the beam centering by inspecting the MUST2 (forward angles) hit pattern (plot attached). It appears that the beam is probably somewhat off centre in the horizontal direction.
It has been decided to run overnight like this and then see with Bertrand if the centering can be improved (will need to send hit pattern spectrum to PCP in order for Bertam to do this).

Due to the high rate of AGATA and Mugast (probably due to some implantation) we asked the PCP to readjust the beam.
They centered it a bit more on the profiler and now it looks better. Attached are the new rates.

The beam is fluctuating between 18 kHz and 22 kHz in VAMOS (24 to 27 kHz in CATS1)
Division on CATS1 trigger is 1000
Division on VAMOS trigger is 1000 in the GMT.
The target is stable with 6.00 K temperature, P=700mbar
We fill 4He every 5 to 5:30 hours and we use more or less 5.5 cm (i.e. 35l) for each filling.
The next bottle change is foreseen on wednesday morning.
We had 2 crashes of the target acquisition this afternoon. We think that it is due to the temperature. We added a fan and we slow down the reading of the temperature to every 12s (instead of 10s). |

During part of run #61, Nigel tuned the beam alignment (using the MUST2 hit pattern as the diagnostic). The beam had shifted after the restarting of the ISOL TIS. The beam came back at around 18:30 and tuning finished at 19:15.
** Disregard the data from this run between ~17:15 (beam lost) and 19:15 (tuning finished).
The run should be OK after 19:15.
** Don't tell Bertrand that Nigel used the d*p*le ... |

Adjustment of beam position, moved up by approximately 15mm on VAMOS FP, down by 2mm on target. AGATA rate reduced to normal, about 4k after 5 min equilibration, no substantial satellite seen in direct beam on VAMOS FP. See separate entry for detailed discussion. Note, however that while beam intensity measurement is 2.1e7, VAMOS trigger on reaction setting is approximately 1100. |

By looking in details to the impact matrix of the annular detector, one can see that more segments than before are missing.
There was a clear degradation between run135 and run140.
