Freddy, Shumpei | BEAM | General | Cryo-LH2 | Beam profile on the target |
The beam profile on the target for each isotope is shown for all trigger and CATS trigger (GATCONF > 500).
X position seems not to depend on the isotope, while Y position depends on the isotope.
Now, 37Ca is a little bit higher form the center of the target, while 36K is almost at the center. |

Freddy, Louis | OFFLINE | General | | Summary 38Ca(p,t) - Run 128 to 152 |
Here are some plot summarizing the analysis status on the 38Ca(p,t) channel.
Run concerned: 128-152 (from 25/06 @ 17h11 to 26/06 @ 22h43)
Running time: 25 hours
Gates applied:
- Target Impact (from CATS)
- Triton in dE-E
- Incoming 38Ca, TCATS2_HF in [200;1000]
- Outgoing (Z=20)Ca, dE-E (IC-PL)
Integrals(all telescopes):
- Ground state : about 800 counts (250 / UT)
- First excited: about 80 counts (25/ UT)
When looking at individual telescopes, we found that:- Most of the statistics is equally spread between T1,T2,T3,T4
- There is an overall shift in Excitation Energy between T1,2 and T3,4. For the gs, T1,2 are around -0.8 MeV while T3,4 are at -1.6 MeV.
- The resolution is thus better when looking at one telescope only (ex: T1 only Sigma=0.63 but for all tel. sigma=0.96 MeV).
Remark:- After the 26/06 at 22h43 until the 27/07 at 4h, we had some beam interruptions, large beam fluctuations. Runs will be included (In progress).
- If we add the 16h of data (from run 107 to 127) it reaches 41h of measuring time.
- If we also add about 6h of data from the ongoing night it will reach 47h of measuring time (extrapolated roughly 1500 gs counts)

Freddy, Louis | OFFLINE | General | | Summary 36Ar(p,t) - Run 128 to 152 |
Here are some plot summarizing the analysis status on the 36Ar(p,t) similar method as in the previous entry:
Run concerned: 128-152 (from 25/06 @ 17h11 to 26/06 @ 22h43)
Running time: 25 hours
Gates applied:
- Target Impact (from CATS)
- Triton in dE-E
- Incoming 36Ar, TCATS2_HF in [5600;6200]
- Outgoing (Z=18)Ar, dE-E (IC-PL)
Remark:- At the moment all Excitation energy plot shown for 36Ar(p,t) are calculated using a wrong reaction file (the one of 38Ca(,pt)36Ca). As a result all the peaks are completely shifted. An analysis using a dedicated file will be done but requires a full reprocessing of the files. It is anyway enough for statistics estimation.
- In the total spectrum (all telescope) the statistics is about 2000 tritons, a similar number than for the 38Ca case. This is compatible with the fact that the 36Ar is present in a similar amount than the 38Ca in the cocktail beam.

Run 2109
Beam: 14O (1.5*10^5 pps)
start: 8h37m01
stop: 9h26
Target nbr 4: CH2 (104 um)
Remark:
- Telesecope 4 is tripping all the time during this run. Impossible to put more than 50V. Even at 40 V, the leakage current is fluctuating around 8 uA. It seems like it is dying.
- LISE spectrometer adjustment during run - The attached plot show the final result of the beam tuning. |

Beam: 14O (1.5*10^5 pps)
start: 9h27m29s
stop: 9h50m35s
Target nbr 4: CH2 (104 um)
Warning: Telescope 4 HV was at 40 V at the beginning of the run. The leakage current finally stabilized and decreased down to about 1.5 uA. We tried to increase the HV to the nominal voltage of 80 V but the leakage current suddenly raised to 10-15 uA again. We decide to let it to 60V for a while. In short Telescope 4 data can't be used for this run. |

- We realized that the pulser frequency for dead time measurement changed from 100 Hz to 50 Hz a few runs ago. It is not clear if someone changed it during an intervention in D6.

Freddy and the night shifters | CHIO | General | | CHIO analog treatment |
Interestingly, the bipolar output of the amplifier of the CHIO sent (and splitted) to check correlation on the channel 15 of the ADC CHIO (or on channel 29 of the ADC MUST2) provides a much better resolution (about 10%) than the one obtained using the unipolar output that we were looking since then (about 20% resolution).
This can be understood by the fact that the bipolar signal from the spectroscopic amplifier filters the baseline fluctuation by deriving the unipolar signal.
On the attached PID plot, it is easy to see the improvment. On the other hand, the beam spot extends also at lower channels and covers part of the other lines.
Since the unipolar signal will have some negative part (undershoot), it is possible for pile-up signals to arrive on top of this negative part and end up with lower energy.
With numexo, the energies extracted from the digitized signals, this undershoot issue is not visible. |

Freddy | OFFLINE | General | | Analysis of DSSD Energy Calibration - alpha source |
We made a calibration with the last alpha source runs:
-run 19 for T1-2-3-4
-run 29 for T5 and T8
-run 31 for T6 and T7
Here are some plots of the analysed runs using this calibration.
In general one can see that telescope 2 has the worst resolution, has an EX energy shifted. It is also the detector with the largest (increasing) leakage current. It has to be investigated in more details...
Calibration summary for each detector can be found in:
