starting tuning of 37Ca. Primary beam is too unstable. PCP machine tries to stabilize it (it should take less than one hour).
Fixed, e755, Fri Jun 29 12:39:34 2018, Louis, OFFLINE, General, Cryo-LH2, Analysis 38Ar(p,t)36Ar run 128 to 156 Kinematics_36Arpt_FIT1Ex.pngKinematics_36Arpt_FITGS.pngTelescope_Ex_36Arpt.pngTelescope_Ex_36Arpt_fit_exited.png36Ar_level_list.png
Here are some plot summarizing the analysis status on the 36Ar(p,t)34Ar channel.

Run concerned: 128-156
Running time: 31 hours

Gates applied:
  • Target Impact (from CATS)
  • Triton in dE-E
  • Incoming 36Ar, TCATS2_HF in [1600;24000]
  • Outgoin Z=18, delta_E E

Plots:
  • Kinematics, Exitation energy
  • Exitation energy per telescope for T1 to T4, with fit for two pics

Remarks:
  • We are able to distinguish two different states coressponding two known 0+ and 2+ states
  • By looking excitation energy telescope by telescope, we can see a shift between T1,2 and T3,4. Again, left right misalignement of MUST2 is highlight

    Runs in 26Ar will be helpfull for E tritons calibrations in CsI

I would summarize the statistics of 38Ca + liq H2 target measurement.
We have obtained the data of 49.5 hours until 28/6, and we added 3.5 hours more data last night.

See the spreadsheet for detail, such as the runnumber and the number of acquisition trigger.

RUN 191:

started at 1:20

Trigger MUST2, CATS1%3*10**3, CATS2%3*10**3
I=1.3uA
Purity = 20%

================================================
Several changed have been made during beam tuning:
  • Delay have been changed for CATS1-HF and CATS2-HF
  • One more CATS1-HF TOF measurement has been added. It's register in the spectra named NP_T_CATS1_HF
  • CATS division has been set to 3*10³ of both CATS1 and CATS2
  • Beam is made of 37Ca, 36K, 35Ar and 34Cl with in average 20% purity in 37Ca
  • CATS1 and 2 tripped because bottle of isobutane was empty. During changing the gaz bottle, gain of strip 13 X of CATS1 changed. Another calibration is probably need for this one

start: 8h08

37Ca setting
CATS12 ~ 15-20 kHz

  • I = 1.4 uA since 7h30 (2 uA during the night) - PCP: source decreasing -working on it
  • Estimation of (Transmission * Efficiency_IC) about 64 % (based on ICdE1 vs TCATS1_HF spectrum)
Fixed, e755, Sat Jun 30 09:17:25 2018, Louis, OFFLINE, General, Cryo-LH2, Offline analysis of 37Ca(p,d)36Ca reaction 7x
Here are some plot summarizing the analysis status on the 37Ca(p,d)36Ca channel. Plots shows performance of the setup in optimal conditions and preli;inary results.

Run concerned: 192-194
Running time: 6 hours

Gates applied:
  • Target Impact (from CATS)
  • deuton in dE-E
  • Incoming 37Ca, TCATS1_HF in [2800;3800]
  • Outgoing Z=20 and Z=19

Plots:
  • Ion identification in dE-TOF and dE-E
  • Light particle identification in dE-E
  • Kinematics, Exitation energy and laboratory angle for Gate on Z=20 and Z=19 outgoing nuclei
  • Previous results for 38Ca(p,t)36Ca analysis

Remarks:
  • Particle identification seems OK for light and heavy particles. We are able to reproduce wath we get during 38Ca beam. All component are well separeted
  • On the Z=20 gated spectra, one can distinguish two state. Excited state looks like to be at the same position (around 3MeV) than the one found in 38Ca(p,t)36Ca reaction.
  • On the Z=19 gated spectra, one can see state. Looks like to be at the same position (around 6MeV) than the one found in 38Ca(p,t)36Ca reaction with the same gate.

Results looks consistent with previous observations. Let's see wath will grown with more data!

The beam profile on the target for each isotope is shown for all trigger and CATS trigger (GATCONF > 500).
X position seems not to depend on the isotope, while Y position depends on the isotope.
Now, 37Ca is a little bit higher form the center of the target, while 36K is almost at the center.

Fixed, e755, Sat Jun 30 15:07:43 2018, Shumpei, OFFLINE, General, Cryo-LH2, 37Ca (p,d) 36Ca 37Capd.pdf37Capd_ex.pdf
37Ca (p,d) 36Ca reaction is analyzed (run 191-195).

Gate condition;
1. beam on target by CATS1&2
2. TOF gate for 37Ca
3. recoil deutron gate by MUST2 only T3
4. fragment gate by CHIO and plastic

Only T3 is used for analysis and the angle is intentionally shifted 1.0 deg to match the kinematics for 40Ca (p,d).

Ground and 2+ state of 36Ca are observed in Z=20 gate, while a higher lying state is seen in Z=19 gate.
This result seems to be consistent with that of 38Ca (p,t) 36Ca.

Summary of Brho1 and Brho2 optimizations for the 37Ca beam.

Attachment 1:
Results of the Brho1 scan. Corresponding LISE run numbers are also shown in the figure.
As the beam intensity was fluctuating, the counting rates were normalized with respect to the intensity.
By changing Brho1, we tried to search for the peak of the 37Ca production. The yield seemed to reach the maximum at around 2.10 Tm,
although sometimes the rates were not reproducible (see the data point of the run 306, for example).

Attachment 2, 3:
Changes of the yield and purity by scanning Brho2. The shaded area corresponds to the width of the slit (shown only for 0%).
They were well optimized at about 1.925 Tm.
