Fixede768s Tue Jul 16 12:10:05 2019 FrancoisBEAMGeneralLiFbeam intensity, normalisation, elastic scattering 7Li
In 2005, the 15O1+ beam was measured at 6x10^7 pps after the CIME cyclotron, contaminated with ~nAe of 15N1+.
After stripper (aluminium stripper at LISE) the purity was 97 % of 15O8+ with 3 % of 15N8+.

The 15N(7Li,7Li)15N cross section has been measured at 27.3 MeV (18.6 MeV CM) (see images). It is Rutherford at angles <10° CM.

In the present experiment, the energy CM is 22.4 MeV CM.
10°CM correspond to 85° in lab, 7Li with energy ~ 0.46 MeV.

Conclusions:
- it is not possible to normalise to the Rutherford cross section of 7Li
- expected beam intensity at nominal should be > 10^7 pps (a factor less than 2 between 1+ and 3+, 40% of 8+ after stripper)

Xf efficiency (normalized to CATS intensity) is directly linked with the beam intensity. The image below show a comparison between normalised Xf spectra on 3 different runs taken with different beam intensities:
Run 122 2019-04-13 06:31:00 4e+4
Run 130 2019-04-15 15:23:00 2.5e+5
Run 131 2019-04-15 20:41:00 2.5e+4

No dependence on time, dependence on intensity.

Pinnede768s Sat Jul 27 06:47:16 2019 Sylvain & AndreaOTHERGeneralLiFWater tray of MUGAST air conditioner cooling system is almost full
During a room inspection it was notice that the water tray used as an output of the fan system which is cooling MUGAST electronic crates is almost full of water. The floor is dry but the we suspect a leakage from the air conditioner. To avoid to flood the floor we took some of the water and put in in the water tray of the fan system located in front of VAMOS.

One would probably need during the day to investigate the origin of this water.
