Fixede793s Sun Mar 14 10:01:36 2021 Juan Lois & faïrouz & AdrienBEAMHardwareCD2Beam intensity escalated up to 1.6e6 pps
At 9:57 the intensity increased up to 1.6e6 pps and we had to call the pcp to put it again to the normal values.

It was solved by 10:07 .

Same incidence happend at 10:17 and then again at 10h30.

The beam operators close little bit the slits to decrease the beam intensity.
The intensity is now 3.e5 pps
Fixede793s Sun Mar 14 11:06:07 2021 Faïrouz, Juan LoisBEAMGeneralCD2Slits open again. Beam intensity ~4.8e5 pps

Fixede793s Sun Mar 14 15:20:47 2021 AdrienOFFLINEGeneralCD2Updated Angular distribution macro
The angular distribution macro has been updated and now produce TWOFNR calculation on the fly.
Feel free to add new plots and play around with the parameter.
MakePlot will produce the distribution using Ex and sigmaEx of the state and Eg and sigmaG of the gamma. Efficiency is automatically taken into account using the efficiency provided by manu.
FIT will perform the TWOFNR calculation using The energy of the state, l and j of the transferred nucleon and J of the formed states. Once the calculation done, it does the fit to the data and extract the C2S.

I found the number strangely small so I suspect we do something wrong.

To run it:
Open a terminal
$> lpcgrit
$> npp MUGAST
$> cd e793s
$> root AngDist.C

Beam went up to 2x10^6 pps in CATS.

Then it went down to 0 for a couple of minutes at 17:13.

Now it is ok, screenshot attached.

Beam progressively down from 5 to 4 10^5. Went to PCP, they were losing intensity in the primary beam, from 500 to 400 nA. Working on it (21:30)...

Pendinge793s Mon Mar 15 00:21:18 2021 Sarah, Louis, CharlieBEAMGeneralCD2Source is running out
The beam intensity spiked to 9x10^9, so Louis called PCP to ask them to reduce it. He was told that the source was almost depleted, and was presented with two options:

A) Keep pushing the source and run at 5x10^5, but run out completely soon (probably during the night shift)
B) Let the rates slowly drop and open the slits as much as possible, to make the source last longer (perhaps another day). This option is strongly preferred by the PCP team, and is the current plan we are following.

Changing the source would apparently take ~12 hrs. There will be a large meeting of all of the technical staff - including the beam and source experts - tomorrow morning at 09:00, so there may be more information about the best course of action after that.

Wilton was consulted as one of the spokespeople of the experiment, and he approves of this action.
Fixede793s Mon Mar 15 02:08:19 2021 mugastBEAMGeneralCD2Beam stopped at 2:08
Beam stopped at 2h08. The PCP want to make some measurement on the source to get its statues. Should take about 10 min.
Fixede793s Mon Mar 15 02:44:06 2021 Sarah, Louis, CharlieRUNGeneralCD2Beam returned at 02:45 and stabilised by PCP
The PCP team were not able to learn anything new about the state of the source from their diagnostic tests, but they told us that they have stabilized the beam so there should be less fluctuations. They have also opened the slits to their maximum, which now gives us 5e5 pps.

Note that Vigru crashed and had to be reopened, so the canvases have only been populated with the data since beam returned at 02h45.

1) Summary of the the Ex vs Eg analysis with all the gamma ray identified highlighted in red. Green line shows the corresponding position of the excited states.

2) C2S extracted from DWBA analysis for the 0.143 (p3/2), 1.130 (p1/2), 1.985 (p1/2) and the 4 MeV (f7/2) states

3) A gamma ray transition is observed from the unbound states of 48K. Interesting is to notice that this 367 keV transition appear only for those states and that no high energy gamma are observed here.

4) usual Analysis plot

The beam intensity has been surprisingly high so far, considering the news we were given about the source a few hours ago. It has just taken a dip to ~4.5e5 in the last 10 mins or so.
Fixede793s Mon Mar 15 06:27:54 2021 Sarah, Louis, CharlieBEAMGeneralCD2Beam lost at 06h25. Returned at 06h30
Electrostatic equipment from the source tripped. Should only be a few minutes of interruption.

EDIT:: Beam back after 5 mins. Screenshot attached.

Screenshots attached. Note that the fluctuation issues have returned after the "electrostatic trip"(?) but the beam pps remain pretty high.
