Measured Statistics (Run 256) about 10h:

GS + 1st excited:

MUGAST(Ex rec) : 2519 (bckg subtracted)
MUGAST(Ex rec + VAMOS) : 1282

Gamma(871keV) : 125 (if subtract bg only 80 cnts)
Gamma(871keV)+MUGAST(Ex) : 68
Gamma(871keV)+MUGAST(Ex)+ VAMOS IC: 27

Deduced gamma efficiency: 68/(2519/2) = 5.4 % ---> to be investigated

Some remarks/ correction :
  • The top right plot named all gammas in AGATA is in fact already assuming that the multiplicity of charged particle in MUGAST is 1
  • All the gammas spectra plotted correspond only to nbtrack=1 (fold = 1)

1) Summary of the the Ex vs Eg analysis with all the gamma ray identified highlighted in red. Green line shows the corresponding position of the excited states.

2) C2S extracted from DWBA analysis for the 0.143 (p3/2), 1.130 (p1/2), 1.985 (p1/2) and the 4 MeV (f7/2) states

3) A gamma ray transition is observed from the unbound states of 48K. Interesting is to notice that this 367 keV transition appear only for those states and that no high energy gamma are observed here.

4) usual Analysis plot

=> as regard as the unbound 48K*>Sn at 6MeV, the gamma ray at 361keV comes from the 1st excited state in 47K.
the other low gamma ray (2234keV) is not observed in coincidence with Eg=280keV or Eg=143keV.

Data: Total integral for peak region around 4 MeV in 19F during run 72:

~35 average peak height over 27 bins = 945 counts. Note that this includes what looks like background in the spectrum. In reality, however, this should be considered part of the yield, because the 1.5 MeV , 4.0 MeV peak, and 5.5 MeV peaks just about touch, and are about the same intensity. So realistic integral is approximately the number of counts between 2.8 and 4.8 MeV.

Comparison to previously observed cross section [F. de O.]:

Ex = 3.999+4.033 [19F]
d-sigma/d-Omega ~ 3.5mb/sr (approximately constant over the range of 0-20 deg c.m.

d-Omega = 0.061 sr [over 0-20 deg. c.m]
=>
sigma = 0.21mb

Assumed efficiencies:
e_MUGAST = 0.5
e_charge-state = 0.5
e_VAMOS = 0.8 [intrinsic]

d_tgt = 337ug/cm2 [7Li component]

Run72:
beam = 1e8pps
run time = 2.4h

Total reaction rate = 2.2k/h
Coincidence detection rate = 440/h
Coincidence detection yield over 2.4h [run72] = 1056

Consistent with the observation for MUGAST-VAMOS coincidences for the run.

For the mugast telescope, changing the temperature from 13deg to minus 4deg doesn't seem to have an impact as strong as for the MUST2 telescopes.
Still, the resolution improve with a lower temperature, but the improvement is of only 0.1 channel... (See joined screenshots)
